The Second Edition of Abuja City Open National Badminton
Championship comes to an end on the 27th January 2011 at the
National Stadium Sports Hall, Package 'B', Abuja.
The
Closing Ceremony was witnessed by many dignitaries, prominent among
them are;

RESULTS
The FCT Team that paraded the highest number of players, finished
the tournament with a total medal of
3 Gold,
4 Silver,
4 Bronze
in all the 5 events.

Stadium, Abuja - Nigeria. It is sponsored by the FCTA and organised
in conjunction with the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN).

The BFN
National Championship has come to an end on the evening of 14th,
after suffering a one day delay. The Championship close with FCT
team going home with 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze. The players that
carted away the medals are:- Ocholi Edicha, Ibrahim Adamu, Abdul
Fatai, Gideon Babalola, Maria Braimah, Ketu Ilofuan, Dorcas Abe in
all the events.
The following players fight gallantly and were ousted in Q/Final and
round of 16 in all the events, they are:- Abraham Otagada, Femi
Elewa, Zainab Momoh, Augustina Sunday.

Quick Recovery

The
Coach, and the players that participated in the Championship wish
KENNETH OMORUYI a speedy recovery from the partial rupture of his
achieve tendon during his last game in the tournament when he make a
forceful movement at the rear court. We at Badminton also express
our gratitude to the Director of Sports, FCT in person of M. M. ALIM
for re-acting quickly to the issue of Mr. Kenneth to see to his
recovery.

Championship” organized by BFN holding on the 11th – 15th August
2010 in Abuja. The association will be taken part with 27 players,
17 male and 10 female.
The players will feature in all events (Single, Doubles and Mixed
Doubles)

The 3rd All Africa Under 15 Championship will
be held in Mauritius from 01 to 08 August 2010. We have the honour
to invite your country to participate in the championship (team
events & individual events).
Together with the championship, BCA is organising the following two
activities at the same venue, refer to the separate invitations:

Academy for our young players Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 July.
- Coaches course 28-31 July Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31
July.

2010 Africa High Level Coaches Course

In view of improving the level of our sport in
our continent, BCA is organizing a high level Coaches Course in
Mauritius Wednesday 28 to Saturday 31 July 2010, prior to the start
of the 2010 Under 15 championship.
The course will be run by two BCA continental experts. It will be a
high-level one, unparalleled in quality, offering intensive course
instruction and modern coaching techniques for African coaches.
Local players will be used for the practical side of the course,
participant coaches will have to coach them in front of the
instructors. Successful coaches will be graded as BCA accredited
coach.
